After years of working with computer networks, we kept seeing the same problem:

Network engineering is still far more complicated, fragmented, and manual than it needs to be.

Projects live across spreadsheets, notes, terminal windows, documentation, calculators, configuration files, vendor references, and countless browser tabs.

And a huge amount of time goes into repetitive work that doesn't really require an engineer's attention.

That was one of the ideas behind NetField.

We wanted to build a place where network engineers can actually keep the project together.

A place to plan the network, manage addressing and devices, generate configurations, validate work, document the project, and eventually use AI to help along the way.

Not another tool that tries to replace the network engineer.
A tool that helps the network engineer.

We're building NetField around a simple idea:

Let engineers focus on engineering. Let the tools handle more of the repetitive work.

The AI layer we're building will have the entire project as context - helping with research, fact-checking, optimisation ideas, and the work that happens before, during, and after a change.

The goal isn't to remove the human from the process.
It's to give the human a better base to work from.

NetField is already live and available to use for free.

We're still early. We're constantly improving the product, adding features, refining the frontend and backend, and learning what network engineers actually need.

And that's where this journey starts.

NetField is being built by people who have spent years in networking and development, for everyone working in the field - from students and learners to network administrators, consultants, system integrators, and senior engineers.

We don't know exactly how far we'll take it yet.

But we know what we want NetField to become:
A tool that network engineers actually want to use every day.
