Terms of Service

The agreement between you and NetField. The part that matters most is section 5: NetField produces a draft for a qualified engineer to review, and deciding whether to deploy it stays with you.

Version 1.0 · In effect from 22 September 2026

1. This agreement

These terms are between you and Net Field, which operates NetField at net-field.com. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you are accepting on behalf of an employer or client, you confirm you are authorised to bind them, and “you” means them as well.

If you do not accept these terms, do not create an account. The calculators and generators on the public site remain available without one, and they are covered by these terms too while you use them.

2. What NetField does

NetField is a workspace for planning, generating, validating and documenting enterprise networks. It carves addressing plans from a supernet, produces vendor-oriented configuration, checks configuration you paste in, and assembles documentation from the project you have built.

It is early software and it is being actively developed. Features will be added, changed and occasionally removed. We will not remove something you depend on without reason, but this is not a product with a frozen feature set.

3. Your account

  • Give an email address you actually control. Confirming it is what unlocks creating projects and emailing documentation, because both can otherwise be aimed at other people.
  • Keep your credentials to yourself. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you, so tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.
  • One account is for one person. Share a project through an organisation rather than sharing a password.
  • You must be at least 16, and have the legal capacity to enter this agreement.

You can delete your account yourself at any time from the account page. It is a real deletion and there is no recovery window — see the Privacy Policy for what that removes.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use NetField to plan, configure or carry out an attack on a network you are not authorised to work on.
  • Use the documentation-sharing feature to send unsolicited mail. It exists to send a document to colleagues and clients, it is rate-limited, and using it as a mail relay ends the account.
  • Attempt to reach another account's projects, probe the service for vulnerabilities without telling us, or interfere with its availability.
  • Scrape, resell or redistribute the command library, calculators or generated output as a competing product.
  • Upload anything unlawful, or anything you do not have the right to put into the service.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile or work around the technical limits of the service, except where the law says you may.

Responsible security research is welcome. Report what you find to info@net-field.com before disclosing it, and we will not pursue you for it.

5. Generated configuration and AI output

NetField produces a draft. Reviewing it is your job, and so is deciding whether to deploy it.

Generated configuration, addressing plans, validation results and AI replies are engineering aids, not instructions to follow. They are produced from what you entered and they cannot know what they were not told — the interface names on the actual hardware, trunk membership, existing routes, the firewall in front of it, or what else is live on the network at the moment you apply them.

Every generated configuration carries a header saying the same thing. That header is part of the output for a reason: review everything before you apply it, on a device you can recover, at a time you can afford to be wrong.

You remain the engineer of record for your network. NetField does not operate your devices, does not connect to them, and does not apply anything. Deciding what to build and whether to deploy it stays with you, and so does responsibility for the result.

The AI assistant is a language model. It can be confidently wrong, it can invent commands that do not exist on your platform, and its output must be reviewed at least as carefully as everything else. Do not paste credentials or keys into it.

6. Your projects stay yours

You own everything you put into NetField and everything it generates from your input. We claim no ownership of it.

You grant us the narrow licence we need to run the service: to store your content, to process it in order to show it back to you and generate what you asked for, to transmit it to the providers listed in the Privacy Policy for those purposes, and to include it in backups. That licence exists for no other purpose, it is not transferable beyond those providers, and it ends when you delete the content or your account.

We do not use your projects to train models, and we do not publish them, share them or use them as examples.

7. Our intellectual property

NetField’s software, interface, documentation, command library and branding remain ours. These terms give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service as it is offered, and nothing more.

Vendor names — Cisco, Juniper, MikroTik, Aruba, Fortinet, Ubiquiti and others — are the trademarks of their respective owners. We use them to describe which platforms output is intended for. NetField is not affiliated with, endorsed by or partnered with any of them.

8. Availability

We aim to keep NetField running and will not take it down carelessly, but we do not offer a service level agreement, and there is no uptime commitment. Maintenance, provider outages and faults will cause interruptions. Do not make NetField the only place a network design exists — export your documentation and keep a copy.

9. What it costs

NetField is currently free to use. We may introduce paid plans in future. If we do, we will give you notice before anything you are already using starts costing money, and you will never be charged without agreeing to it first.

10. Suspension and termination

You can stop using NetField whenever you like and delete your account from the account page.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches section 4, that is being used to harm the service or other people, or where we are legally required to. Where it is reasonable to do so we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right; where the breach is serious — an attack, or using the service to mail strangers — we will not. If we close your account without cause, we will give you reasonable notice and a chance to export your data.

11. Warranties

The service is provided as it is and as it is available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement, and we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its output will be accurate, complete or suitable for your network.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, or for business interruption — and in particular, we are not liable for loss arising from configuration generated by NetField being applied to a network. Section 5 explains why: reviewing that output before applying it is your responsibility, and it is the only thing standing between a draft and a live device.

Our total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred euros. While the service is free, that means one hundred euros.

13. Indemnity

You agree to cover our reasonable losses and legal costs arising from your breach of section 4, from content you put into the service that you had no right to, and from your use of generated output on networks you work on.

14. Changes to these terms

This is version 1.0, in effect from 22 September 2026. We will raise the version for any material change and email account holders before it takes effect. Continuing to use NetField after that date is acceptance; if you would rather not accept, delete your account before then.

15. General

If any part of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our not enforcing something on one occasion is not a waiver of it.

These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us about NetField. You may not transfer your rights under them without our agreement.

16. Contact

Questions about these terms go to support@net-field.com. Privacy questions and data requests go to info@net-field.com, and the Privacy Policy explains what we do with your data.
